More than three decades into his career, Snoop Dogg continues to prove that longevity in hip-hop isn’t just about surviving—it’s about evolving. 10 Til’ Midnight isn’t trying to recreate Doggystyle. Instead, it finds Snoop comfortably blending West Coast swagger, smooth R&B, club records, and veteran wisdom into a concise, enjoyable project.
The album opens strong with “Step” featuring Swizz Beatz. Built for the clubs, the record has immediate energy and feels like one of those songs DJs can confidently drop to get people moving. It sets the tone perfectly and lets listeners know this isn’t a sleepy veteran album.
The party continues with “Lied 2 U,” where Snoop shifts gears into full R&B mode. His melodic delivery is effortless, showing once again that he’s comfortable singing when the record calls for it. It’s one of the catchiest songs on the album and should appeal to longtime fans and newer listeners alike.
One of the strongest records is “Stop Counting My Poccets.” The single carries a confident message about success, criticism, and staying focused. It feels authentic and reflects where Snoop is in life rather than chasing trends.
On “OG to BG,” Snoop attempts to bridge the gap between generations, offering advice and perspective to younger artists while reminding listeners that experience still matters. The record avoids sounding preachy and instead feels like genuine game from someone who’s lived it.
Detroit gets its moment with “Dogg WattUp Doe” featuring Peezy. The chemistry works well, blending West Coast flavor with Detroit’s gritty street sound.
Another standout is “No Ticcet Needed” featuring Konobby. The production and chemistry make it one of the more replayable songs on the project.
While 10 Til’ Midnight isn’t trying to reinvent hip-hop, it doesn’t need to. Snoop sounds relaxed, confident, and comfortable in his lane. The album balances party records, smooth grooves, and mature storytelling without feeling forced.
