Sean “Diddy” Combs could reportedly take a significant step toward reentering society next month.

According to multiple reports, Combs may become eligible for placement in a federal halfway house as early as August 7 if he successfully completes the Bureau of Prisons’ Residential Drug Abuse Program (RDAP).

A halfway house, also known as a Residential Reentry Center, allows qualifying inmates to transition from prison back into the community under structured supervision. Residents typically must maintain employment, follow strict rules, submit to monitoring, and return to the facility each day.

Participation in RDAP can make certain federal inmates eligible for reduced sentences and earlier community placement, although eligibility depends on federal law and Bureau of Prisons policies.

For Combs, the potential transfer would represent another milestone in a legal case that has generated enormous public attention.

Whether the move ultimately occurs will depend on successful completion of the program and approval by federal prison officials.
