Beyoncé Drops New Album: Cowboy Carter

Celebrities, companies and a US politician have celebrated the release of Beyoncé’s highly anticipated new album, Cowboy Carter, on 29 March.

Beyoncé’s eighth studio album, the second in her rumored Renaissance trilogy, is a genre blend of country, pop, funk and more across 27 tracks. The singer seems very comfortable in her current lane; not that she ever came off as anything but secure.

In a Friday press release, Beyoncé shared that the album took more than five years to create and described it as the “best music I’ve ever made”, a chance to create music where “there are no rules”.

The most awarded artist in Grammys history added that she had been partially inspired to create with “real instruments” in the face of increasing artificial intelligence and other digital fixtures. Judging by the reaction from fans, Beyonce has done it again!

“The more I see the world evolving, the more I felt a deeper connection to purity. With artificial intelligence and digital filters and programming, I wanted to go back to real instruments, and I used very old ones,” she said in the press release.

Beyoncé has helped open the door for more black country singers. I hope they continue coming with the heat.

Beyoncé Reveals ‘Act II’ Album Name: ‘Cowboy Carter’

Beyoncé has revealed that her Act II album will be titled Cowboy Carter. The chart-topping vocalist revealed the country record’s name on Tuesday, posting an image of a tacked-up saddle with a ribbon boasting its moniker in bold text to her Instagram Story. The post included a link to the artist’s webstore, which is now stocked with CD boxsets featuring limited-edition cover photos of Bey’s face, as well as exclusive vinyls in colors including red, white, blue and black. Notably, the CD boxsets have a bonus track and T-shirts boasting the record’s name. Beyoncé first announced the album on Super Bowl Sunday, quenching fans’ thirst with two new singles: “16 Carriages” and “Texas Hold ‘Em.” The singer has not revealed further information about the record’s tracklist; however, in a recent interview with Knox News, Dolly Parton did hint that Bey’s countrified body of work would include a rendition of “Jolene.”
