Bills knock Broncos out of the playoffs, better-than-expected season comes to an end with 31-7 loss

On Sunday, the AFC East-winning Buffalo Bills faced off against the Denver Broncos who took the No. 3 Wild Card team spot for the first round of the NFL playoffs. The Bills, who ended up in the No. 2 overall spot in the AFC behind the Kansas City Chiefs, hosted the Broncos at Highmark Stadium for the highly anticipated matchup. The game aired on CBS and Paramount+, kickoff was at 1 p.m.

The Denver Broncos defense has been pretty solid this season, but today was not one of those days. Their 31 points allowed to the Buffalo Bills are the third most they’ve allowed in a game. Denver is a young team, with a lot of promise – but the Bills proved to be too much for them, winning convincingly 31-7. The Broncos did not do enough things well. The had no answer to stop Buffalo’s running game.

This is quite the performance by the Buffalo Bills who will host the Baltimore Ravens next weekend in a much-anticipated divisional matchup. Like Lamar Jackson Saturday, Josh Allen was in complete control and Bills dominated at line of scrimmage. Ravens will have to find a way to impact QB Josh Allen. The Broncos could not.
